How do I choose the right proxy type for my use case
Four proxy types, four different jobs. Match the type to the target, not to the budget.
Start with the target
Is the target actively blocking automated traffic? Retail, travel, ticketing, social and sneaker sites almost always are. Start at residential. Internal tools, public APIs and small sites usually are not — datacenter is fine and much faster.
Does the target need to keep seeing the same address? Account management, dashboards and long-running logins need a stable IP — that is ISP (static residential). Anything stateless can rotate.
Is the target mobile-first? App APIs and mobile ad placements often serve carrier traffic differently. Mobile proxies are the only accurate option there.
Quick reference

| Price and SERP monitoring | Residential |
| Ad verification | Residential or mobile |
| Managing social accounts | ISP or mobile, sticky |
| Internal QA and uptime checks | Datacenter |
| Bulk API calls to a friendly API | Datacenter |
| Mobile app testing | Mobile |
